The Estimator is responsible for evaluating project specifications and drawings, ensuring a complete and accurate cost estimate.Mechanical Construction Estimator Essential Functions::Review plans, specifications, drawings to determine the cost of the project.Analyze time, material, and manpower requirements for each project.Perform material takeoffs and develop a written estimate of cost to perform the work according to the specifications.Provide the Estimating Manager with a detailed cost estimate, corresponding proposal letter and bid form breakout and take over ownership of the project.Interface with customers, vendors, and subcontractors to determine the cost of the project. Gather information to determine subcontractor and vendor suitability and aggressively gain the best pricing.Visit customer field locations as required to ascertain project conditions.Attend pre and post bid meetings as required and be able to effectively present information to clients to sell our projects.Select pool of potential subcontractors and equipment vendors to solicit their proposals.Analyze special safety and code requirements on all projects.Work as part of an integrated team in acquiring projects.Properly turns over bid documents to Project Management in a timely manner.Demonstrate the McClure values of Reputation, Integrity, Respect and Vision.Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.Mechanical Construction: Estimator Experience, technical skills & attributes required::5-10+ years of experience in a similar Mechanical Estimator position.A two-year degree from a community college, trade school or equivalent, or Bachelor's Degree.Sheet metal and piping experience preferred, or be willing to be cross trained in both.Self-motivated, possess strong communication and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Estimation or Quickpen).Mechanical Construction Estimator Physical Requirements::Ability to climb a ladder, when on a jobsiteAbility to walk at least 1 mile, when on a jobsiteAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in hot environments; including but not limited to full sleeves, glasses, hardhat & steel toed boots in summer temperatures, when on a jobsiteAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipPosition is full-time Monday - FridayMcClure Company is an Equal opportunity employer.
