MedStar Health, a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedic for our MedStar Transport team. This role is pivotal in providing rapid response medical care and transportation in emergency situations. The ALS Paramedic will collaborate with other emergency medical team members and adhere to the highest standards of patient care as dictated by MedStar Health. The ideal candidate will exhibit profound commitment, exceptional decision-making skills, and a deep compassion for patient welfare. Respond to emergency calls swiftly and efficiently to provide medical assistance. Perform patient assessments and provide necessary emergency care at the scene and en route to the hospital. Administer medications, perform intubations, and provide advanced cardiac life support and other advanced medical procedures. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of patient care. Maintain accurate patient records and document all actions taken during the call. Ensure the readiness and maintenance of emergency vehicles and equipment. Expertise in advanced life support techniques and protocols. Proficient in the use of medical equipment such as defibrillators, EKGs, and intubation sets. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to operate under high stress and maintain patient empathy. Advanced problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
