Job Description The Arc of Greater Prince William/INSIGHT, Inc,
a respected non-profit provider of residential, recreation, and day
services for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental
Disabilities (IDD), is seeking a Childcare Supervisor. This
position is located at our Muriel Humphrey Child Care Center (MHCC)
located in Woodbridge, VA 22193. The position is full-time, 35
hours/week, schedule, Monday - Friday 5:30am-12:30pm, must have
flexibility to cover for closing at 6:30pm when Director is off.
Rate of pay $18/hour. We offer EXCELLENT benefits including zero

and sick leave). General Description: Under the general supervision
of the Program Director, the Supervisor will be responsible for the
Center’s program in the absence of the Director, supervise
childcare staff members, and ensure the safety and well being of
the children. Duties and Responsibilities - Assists in the
planning, development and implementation of the childcare program.
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of the children served.
- Responsible for ensuring licensing requirements is being always
met. - Responsible for ensuring Health Department and Fire Code
regulations are being always met. - Serves as a role model for the
children. - Helps the children with their self-care requirements. -
Works directly with the children in implementing the Center’s
program. - Responsible for routine record keeping. - Responsible
for the administration and documentation of all medication and
medical treatments. - Responsible for the supervision and
evaluation of the direct care staff. - Acts as a key link between
the Center and the child’s family. - Performs other such duties as
may be required of the position as assigned by the Program
Director. Supervisor Qualifications Program leaders shall be at
least 18 years of age, have fulfilled a high school program
completion or the equivalent, and meet one of the following: 1.
Have one of the program director qualifications in 8VAC20-780-190;
OR 2. Have an endorsement or bachelor's degree in a child-related
field such as, but not limited to, elementary education, nursing,
or recreation, from a college or university; OR 3. Have three
months of programmatic experience and at least one of the following
education backgrounds: a. A one year early childhood certificate
from a college or university that consists of at least 30 semester
hours; OR b. A child development credential by an organization
listed in§ 22.1- 289.048 of the Code of Virginia; OR c. A teaching
diploma from an internationally or nationally recognized Montessori
organization; OR 4. Have six months of supervised programmatic
experience. Required Skills / Abilities: - Maintain driver's
license and acceptable driving record. - Insurable under agency
automobile insurance policy. - Must be able to complete pediatric
First1st Aid/ CPR/AED training and maintain certification every two
years. - Must be able to complete pediatric Medication training. -
Completion of acceptable criminal background checks and TB health
screening. - Establish a good rapport with the children. -
Establish and maintain a good working relationship with coworkers.
- Completion of all required trainings as needed. - Proficient
computer skills. - Communication skills (verbally and written) with
all levels of personnel, internal and external to the agency. -
Comfortable with assisting individuals with hygiene and medical
routines. - Capable of carrying out assigned responsibilities; -
Capable of accepting training and supervision; and - Capable of
communicating with emergency personnel. - Staff who drive vehicles
transporting children shall disclose any moving traffic violation
that occurred five years prior to or during employment or
assignment as a driver. - Knowledge of the groups being served and
skills specific to the special needs of the children in care
including functional abilities, accommodations, assessment
techniques, behavior management, and medical and health concerns.
Physical Qualifications - Physically able to drive an agency
vehicle. - Free of TB in the communicable form. - Physically be
able to lift children to changing table or to lower children to
changing mat on floor. - Able to assist children with evacuation. -
Able to assist children in wheelchairs. - Physically capable of
lifting 60 pounds. - Physically able to perform CPR and first aid.
- Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending,
stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for
