Job Description Job Description Job Title: Physical Therapist Job Description The Physical Therapist is responsible for administering necessary physical therapy treatments determined through comprehensive evaluations. The role involves helping patients suffering from injuries or dysfunction in various systems, such as the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, central nervous system, cardiovascular, and integumentary systems. The goal is to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent further disability. This responsibility is carried out individually or through appropriate delegation and oversight of support staff. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care 100% of the work time, including necessary documentation in patients' medical records. Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine appropriate courses of care for each patient and follow up with treatments as necessary. Perform and document tests and measurements appropriate for the given condition, including assessments of strength, range of motion, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency. Administer physical therapy treatments and monitor them within the scope of practice to decrease pain, increase range of motion and strength, and promote function, utilizing therapeutic interventions such as modalities, therapeutic procedures, manual therapy, and written home exercise programs. Assess the effects of treatments at various stages, at least every 30 days, and adjust treatments to achieve maximum patient progress. Document treatments, responses, progress, and outcomes in the patient's chart in accordance with federal and state regulations. Select appropriate CPT codes correlating to the treatment administered and submit billing charges consistent with the level of care provided. Comply with all insurance guidelines for coverage and reimbursement, coordinating care per current authorizations, referrals, treatment plans, and insurance benefits requirements. Supervise physical therapist assistants and related therapy support staff during treatments as dictated by state PT Practice Acts and federal regulations. Essential Skills Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program. State licensure as a Physical Therapist in the practicing state. CPR for Healthcare Providers certification. Experience and proficiency with computers and electronic medical records. Work Environment The position involves a controlled schedule with 45-minute appointment slots. The work environment requires compliance with federal and state regulations, insurance guidelines, and involves direct patient care in a structured setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Front Royal, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
