ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Alexandria, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - PCU Float Pool Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM • Float to all PCU/Telemetry units within the hospital as needed • Work every other weekend with minimum of 4 weekend shifts in a 6-week period • Holiday requirements: 1 major and 1 minor holiday • Patient ratios: PCU 1:4 (may go to 1:5), Medical/Surgical 1:5 (may go to 1:6 rarely) • Required to titrate drips including cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin • Must be proficient with neurological assessments and basic cardiac drips • Ability to read and interpret EKG strips and pass ECG exam required • Work with equipment including CPAP, high flow oxygen, and EKG machines • Care for patients with stroke, chest pain, arrhythmias, post-surgical conditions, sepsis, and respiratory failure • 3 shifts of orientation on 3 different units plus general facility orientation • Navy scrubs required • Required certifications: BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS • Must have 1-2 years experience with neuro assessments and cardiac drip experience • EPIC experience and prior travel experience required • Opportunity for overtime available • No on-call responsibilities Facility: This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive Progressive Care Unit and Medical/Surgical services with a total of 104 beds across multiple specialty units.
