We advise governments, private payers and providers, foundations and nonprofits in diagnosing problems, devising solutions, and creating value in hospital and healthcare networks. Aceso Global undertakes research, analysis and data collection to drive learning and collaboration across the global health community. Our work informs policymaking, healthcare investments, hospital financing and front-line integrated care improvements. We are committed to high quality work for clients.We are looking for a Health Economist or a Health Systems Specialist to join our team to lead and deliver our growing portfolio of projects across the globe. These projects include:

• Working with the reformist Indonesian Ministry of Health on establishing a Health Policy Agency and collaborating with them on healthcare delivery improvements, hospital PPPs and bolstering provider payment system;
• Advising the governments of Egypt and C--te d'Ivoire on contracting private providers and setting tariffs under National Health Insurance Agencies;
• Working with the Global Fund for AIDS, TB and Malaria in facilitating joint funding projects with International Financial Institutions;
• Leading Joint Learning Network (JLN) initiatives to facilitate peer-to-peer learning among officials from over a dozen countries working to improve primary health care performance management.The successful candidate will work with leaders in global health, and will have the unique opportunity to provide leadership and take on a variety of meaningful projects and responsibilities, including mentoring junior staff.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities under this position include:
  • Advisory services - Provide advice and analysis for clients including support of investments; policy formation and recommendations; and project implementation;
  • Project management - Responsibility for management of projects, leading analysis and producing reports for clients and producing quality outputs, as well as interacting with clients;
  • Research - Undertake and participate in research projects, taking the lead or contributing to writing papers and developing presentations;
  • Client development - Interact with key global health stakeholders, working with governments, multilaterals, the private sector and thought leaders;
  • Thought leadership communication - Contribute to communicating Aceso Global's insights to key stakeholders, donors and clients and developing material on lessons learned for policy and practice.RequirementsAceso Global is seeking a candidate with an MBA, PhD or M.A. with a focus on economics, public policy, international development, global health, or related disciplines, ideally with expertise in healthcare systems and healthcare financing, and at least five years of professional experience. The candidate should be an excellent writer, be able to quickly deliver briefs, project outputs and research products on deadline, and be able to contribute to proposal writing and other tasks of the organization. Experience in low- or middle- income countries is essential, and some training in economics training important. The candidate should possess:
    • Experience working with middle and upper-middle income country governments, private sector in OECD or emerging markets or both;
    • Solid grasp of development, health financing and health service delivery;
    • Experience working in OECD or Emerging Market social health insurance systems is essential.
    • Strong technical writing skills;
    • Fluency in written English usage and grammar, and experience in professional writing;
    • Ability to analyze data and draw policy conclusions;
    • Demonstrated research skills;
    • Good interpersonal skills;
    • Spanish, French or Portuguese proficiency highly desired;
    • Experience with multilateral development organizations a plus.Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000. Benefits include employer-premium-paid health insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching, a transit benefit, vacation and sick leave. There is also access to dental insurance and a flexible spending account.This is a full-time position based in Washington, D.C., but we will consider applicants interested in a part-time position. Aceso Global works in-office on a hybrid basis.
