& Objective The Hydraulic Engineer I is accountable for the
hydraulic design and performance of hydro turbine equipment. This
position is accountable for the development of cost-effective
custom equipment designs at the proposal stage and achievement of
the budgeted costs at the final design stage. Essential Functions
Performed by the Position Commit to work under company’s core

our customers Responsible for the hydraulic design and layout of
custom hydro-turbine equipment. Prepares and analyzes hydraulic
designs using CFD methods. Participates in model or field testing
to confirm hydraulic performance. Serve as the technical lead on
low complexity projects with support from experienced engineers.
Support Hydraulic Engineering Proposal Manager with proposal
engineering, including interface with Sales and Marketing, proposal
preparation and technical presentations to customers. Assist in the
development and maintenance of hydraulic engineering computer
software Assist in the development and maintenance of hydraulic
engineering standards for product design and manufacture Occasional
preparation of technical papers and presentations at major
conferences Work under the direction of experienced engineers on
complex and demanding projects. Conduct internal design reviews
with multi-disciplinary teams. Support additional project
requirements as needed for Project Management, Proposals,
Procurement, Operations, and Field Service departments. Coordinate
with Operations and Field Service departments to resolve technical
problems that arise during manufacture or installation of
equipment. Perform after-market field testing and troubleshooting
of turbine installations under the direction of experienced
engineers. Satisfy ISO Quality Standards as it relates to the
design function Development Responsibilities Development of
hydraulic analysis tools or methods as directed by Manager of
Hydraulic Engineering Authorities Approval of shop and field
non-conformances and disposition of non-conformances with input
from experienced engineers Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient with Microsoft
Office Suite or related software Proficient with CAD software
Required Education and Experience Bachelor of Science, Mechanical
Engineering 0-3 years’ experience required Licenses or
