Fairfax Water seeks a diligent and experienced Program Supervisor, Water Main Design to lead the ongoing design and management of water infrastructure projects. Situated under the Engineering & Architecture department, this role is instrumental in ensuring the provision of safe, reliable, and efficient water services to one of Virginias largest communities. As part of our team, you will be entrusted with overseeing all aspects of water main design, from conceptualization to execution, aligned with state-of-the-art methodologies and sustainability practices. Direct the planning, design, and modification of water main infrastructure projects. Liaise with government agencies on obtaining the necessary permits and ensuring compliance with national and local codes. Manage and mentor a team of water main design engineers and support staff. Prepare engineering documents, reports, and proposals for internal management and external stakeholders. Coordinate with the procurement team on sourcing materials and selecting subcontractors. Monitor project progress to ensure compliance with timelines, budget, and quality standards. Continuously update knowledge on engineering standards and new technologies in the field of water utilities. Proficiency in CAD software and GIS applications Strong organizational and project management skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Proficient in hydraulic modeling and water network analysis Leadership and team management capabilities Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Professional Engineer (PE) license required Certification from the American Water Works Association (AWWA) is advantageous
