Job Description Job Description Our client is seeking an
Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant with approximately five years
of accounting experience to support daily finance operations within
a rapidly growing government contracting environment. Experience in
government contracting is a strong plus. This role is responsible
for billing, collections, and cash application, ensuring accurate
and timely revenue recognition and effective management of customer
accounts. The AR Accountant will collaborate closely with a Senior
Accounting professional on more complex issues and will operate in
a fast-paced setting that offers opportunities for increased
responsibility and career growth based on performance. Key
Responsibilities Accounts Receivable Operations • Support customer
setup and maintenance • Assist with customer invoicing in
accordance with contract and billing requirements • Track accounts
receivable and follow up on outstanding balances • Coordinate with
internal teams to resolve billing or payment discrepancies •
Support cash application and AR reporting as needed Systems,
Controls & Compliance • Utilize Microsoft Business Central for
transaction processing and reporting (experience a plus) • Follow
established accounting procedures, internal controls, and
segregation of duties • Assist with process improvements, workflow
documentation, and efficiency initiatives • Support compliance
requirements relevant to government contracting, including audit
support Reporting & Collaboration • Escalate complex or unusual
transactions as appropriate • Support other accounting functions as
needed to meet business demands • Work collaboratively with
accounting, finance, and operational teams • Maintain a high
standard of professionalism in communications with internal
stakeholders and customers Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting, Finance, or related field • 4 years of relevant
accounting experience • Government contracting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable and billing processes
• Understanding of the monthly accounting cycle including general
ledger and close processes • Strong attention to detail and
accuracy • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong Microsoft
Excel skills (including pivot tables and lookup functions) •
Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP system a
